About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as a Forestry Technician with Directorate of Public Works Environmental Division Prevention and Compliance Branch Fort Benning, GA.
Duties
• As a Forestry Technician you will perform the following duties which is not all inclusive list: • Serve as a Forestry Technician responsible for implementing and managing wildland fire to include prescribed burning and wildfire suppression activities of the Natural Resources Program. • Responsible for the timber marking program according to established procedure. Plans, designs, and coordinates all timber marking activities. • Coordinate with Planning Section to provide comments on proposed timber sales, reforestation, and other silviculture treatments. • Assist wildlife and forestry personnel with ecosystem management. • Operates motor vehicle up to 2,000 G.V.W.
